If you're parents of your children than you must aware of merits and demerits of having Facebook account and its usage from children’s. Most of the parents avoid to use Facebook because they don’t have much time to spend but their children’s do and many parents wants to keep an eye on their children’s Facebook account to track what their children’s are doing on Facebook. According to the latest research from lab42, 92 percent of parents are on Facebook to keep notice their children activities on Facebook and they are actually friends with their children.

The major reason behind usage of Facebook from parents is to connect with their children over the online social network is safety and securities. The research suggests that a marginally higher percentage of parents are worried that their children are bullying others on Facebook. 72 percent of parents know their child’s Facebook account and passwords, while 31 percent parents monitor their child accounts four or five times a week but most parents check their child’s Facebook activities on a daily basis.

Download and Install Android Apps Directly from Google+ Plus Post Stream

Google is now allowing its Android Smartphone, Tablet and Desktop device users to Download and Install Android Apps Directly from Google+ Plus Post Stream instead of visiting Google Play or Android Market for the installation of Android Applications. Whenever a Google+ Plus user (a Social Networking Website from Google) pasted a Google Play Application link as a new post or status into its Google+ Plus Stream, an 'Install' or 'Buy' Button will be placed and visible to that particular Google+ Plus Post and whenever any user clicked on that post or link it will take a user to Google Play store with a prompt to Purchase or Directly Install the app to an Android device.

10 Apps for Documenting Learning

One of the things that really excites me about the iPad is the ability of the students to show their learning. I am not talking about the end product here, I am talking about the act of learning that can be shown by students recording their processes. It is often about the student putting the information they have learnt into a context. It is this contextualisation that helps the students create meaning. Here is a perfect example from a young 1st grade student who talks us through his investigation into transport. This example was shown on a recent school visit as one way a student could document their own learning. Our Lady of the Angels, Rouse Hill is an exemplar school combining principles of contemporary pedagogy with contemporary learning spaces.

This is where we really see the mechanics of a student's learning and how this can be individual for each student and in the case of a tool like the iPad, individualised for each student.

How to Add and Remove Safari Buttons From Apple iMac, Mac Book Air, Pac Book Pro

 

You can remove the plus sign button for adding bookmarks, or remove the forward and backward buttons for page navigation. The layout in Safari is very flexible this way, you can even add buttons you perhaps were not aware of before, like a Downloads button or an Autofill button.



All you have to do is go to the View menu, and select "Customize Toolbar...". From there you can select and then drag and drop what you want or what you would like to remove from the Safari button layout.

Speed up Apple Time Capsule

I recently purchased a 1 TB Time Capsule and was very excited to get home to hook it up. After the initial set up, which didn't go as smoothly as every other Apple product I've set up, I was extremely disappointed with the slow file transfer and constant disconnects I was encountering. I couldn't even stream my iTunes library (which is why I got it).

Here are some tweaks I've done:

• Reduce Interference:
• Connect the Time Capsule directly to your router with a LAN cable, then log into it via the Airport utility. Click on the manual set up button, then the wireless tab to disable wireless and give her a reboot. When the Time Capsule restarts it should now say "Wired" in the connection status. - Please note, I live in an apartment with 20 or so wireless networks around me, which was causing major interference. After hard wiring the Time Capsule I no longer have drop outs.
• Rename your Time Capsule to a single word, mine is named Tera. Don't use weird symbols either, straight up letters and numbers here folks.
• Speed her up!
• Disable searchlight indexing. Go into system preferences, spotlight, privacy and add your time capsule to the list "Prevent Spolight from Searching these Locations"
• Following suite, I removed the Time capsule from Quicksilver's catalog - before I did this Quicksilver would crash or freeze when I tried to use it when my Time Capsule was connected, now I can use both in harmony

After performing all my tweaks, I can now stream iTunes music and videos and quickly update my iPhone and iPods! I haven't had any disconnects either.
